Joins Deer Channel as Senior Wildlife Biologist

Stephenville, TX –– Deer Channel, Inc. (DCI) today announced the
appointment of Dr. James Kroll as the conservation organization’s
senior wildlife biologist.

Dr. James C. Kroll, known worldwide as "Dr. Deer", is one of the foremost
leading authorities regarding white-tailed deer biology and management.
Dr. Kroll is Director of the Forest Resources Institute (FRI), Arthur Temple
College of Forestry, Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU).
He is also Director of the Institute for White-tailed Deer Management
and Research at SFASU.

Kroll is recognized as the Father of Modern Whitetail Management. Kroll has
authored more than 200 technical and popular articles, ten books, and has
produced videos for NBC, TNN, and the Outdoor Channel networks, as well as
a video management series. Kroll is a regular writer for 38 magazines, including
North American Whitetail, Journal of the Texas Trophy Hunter and Game &
Fish magazines. He is recognized as the authority on intensive whitetail
management and economic development of wildlife-recreation enterprises.

Dr. Kroll was born in Waco, Texas, and grew up hunting and fishing on his
grandfather’s farm. That is where he developed his keen interest in nature
study and wildlife management. He has been married to Susie Kroll for 29
years and has two children: Sydney, a Magna Cum Laude graduate
of Texas University, and Cody, a Master’s of Fine Arts graduate
of the University of Buffalo.
